I went to charge my unit then i tried to turn it on and no audio. I went ahead and sent it to Whistler for dmr upgrade. Hope the audio problem isnt going to cost me more, hopefully a easy fix.
Assuming you did not do the "unauthorized" upgrade that makes it think it is a Whistler 1080, the base charge for Whistler to make the change and add DMR should cover everything. When it comes back, it will think it is a 1080 and all updates (CPU, DSP) from Whistler will work.

This assumes that you didn't BRICK your scanner with the hacked firmware. Whistler will still do a hacked scanner in working condition for the lower price of $59.99. If you have the hacked firmware and do not receive DMR then it will be $120 as you have bricked the logic board and it has to be replaced.
Even the higher price is a deal compared to anything new with the same or similar capabilities. Simulcast can be difficult depending on location and the system. I have the same radio with the upgrade and it works well on my county simulcast system. The upgrades also give you access to factory repairs if needed down the road.
