I recently sent my PSR-800 to Whistler to get the legacy upgrade, just waiting for it to be sent back to me. Question, will they automatically update the database library from RR? only reason I ask is because I do not have a PC, I only have a MacBook. I know that I can grab a cheap Windows laptop if needed but was just curious. Also, will the upgrade improve battery life on the scanner as well?

The database is no longer available for Whistler products (at least my PSR800)

If your PSR-800 has the legacy upgrade, you can use the WS1080 EZ Scan software to update the library. I don't know if Whistler will update the library when a scanner is upgraded. You need a Windows PC to keep the library up to date. Frequencies and systems can sometimes change with amazing speed. What is your city or town, county, and state so I can get my eyes on the database?
