I was reading another thread on the forum and people were saying it is illegal to have a scanner in Florida. What are the actual laws for Maryland? I have had a scanner for years and never thought about it being illegal.

Thats not the law in florida. The florida law prohibits installing a scanner in a car and the latest revision to even transport a scanner. There are exceptions and the easiest is to have an amateur radio license. There is no prohibition about having a scanner in your home, or while walking.

HoDo, In maryland anyone(citizens) could legally have a scanner installed in thier vehicles.
