Lemoore Hornets in Europe

Hi!

2 F-18 c/s Hornet 11 and Hornet 12 were overhead the Netherlands. They visited Stuttgart in Germany for a fuellstop on their way to the Farnborough Show in the UK

F/A-18F 166673/NJ VFA-122 "Hornet 11"
F/A-18F 166675/NJ-134 VFA-122 "Hornet 12"

They were chit chatting on 361.900 Mhz

They often have them do shows, because they rotate the very latest block Hornets through them first, before they go to actual units. Some stay, but a lot go to combat units later. That way the Pilots get to train on the same actual block type that they will start flying in, and the instructors always get the latest block to learn. They also give each delivered plane a final check ride.
