Levy County Florida Sheriff - Anyway?

Live out in Levy County and I see that the sheriff is on SLERS Macom 800 system and it says that this can not be monitored by any scanner.

Is there anything out now or will there be any scanner in the future that would receive this?

No. The State of Florida system is encrypted full time.
That has nothing to do with it being digital.
Why I feel much safer when I travel down there because it's encrypted. I bet their arrest rate has soared because of the encryption, but then again the Tyco Wireless system has to work properly first!

Sheriff Johnny Smith and Captain Evan Sullivan continued their journey towards funding the enhanced 911 for their communications center Monday night, telling Chiefland City Commissioners they must sign a contract and make a one-time $7, 500 purchase of custom software, a standard software program such as E-Agent costing an estimated $750 and equip patrol cars with laptops containing air cards and mobile data ports by October 1 of this year or hire its own dispatcher for emergency services calls.

Its absurd, but if the share holders don't comply with the mobile data terminal contract, they will no longer be dispatched by LCSO.
He is increasing the "fee" he charges for dispatching privlages by 100% or more depending on the share holder. He is not increasing the capabilities of dispatch, as a matter of fact, he is reducing the number of dispatchers because of his new "Silent Dispatch". Share Holders have NO input on how they are dispatched or protocals. The dispatchers are not EMD or EFD certified. Oh, and by the way, the SO takes priority on all radio channels. Fire and EMS routinely get "Bumped" when SO runs a tag. What exactly are they paying him for?
