Levy County Sheriff, Inglis PD, Cedar Key PD, Chiefland PD, Bronson PD, and Williston PD are now using a ICOM IDAS VHF system after leaving the SLERS system.

I believe that is NXDN, which is scannable by newer scanners (SDS100 with paid upgrade). The question is, are they encrypted.

This is the million dollar question and I'm hoping someone will have the answer. Can you pick up anything from Levy County over there in Gainesville?

I have it loaded and I have been in Williston and have not gotten anything, probably programmed wrong.
Levy County SO is on the SLERS system and encrypted.

Most Levy county services use the VHF NXDN system and a few TG's are encrypted however the Levy County Sheriffs use SLERS and are fully encrypted.

Does the NXDN VHF have to be programmed in any special way?
I did see that, reply 2. Yesterday I was scanning the SLERS system and the Levy County SO talkgroups were very active and encrypted. The other public safety departments (Fire/EMS) are indeed on the NXDN system.
