Can Levy County Sheriff be monitored on any scanner?
If so, what brand and scanner would work the best?
If so, what brand and scanner would work the best?
From the database:
Levy County Sheriff, Inglis PD, Cedar Key PD, Chiefland PD, Bronson PD, and Williston PD are now using a ICOM IDAS VHF system after leaving the SLERS system.
I believe that is NXDN, which is scannable by newer scanners (SDS100 with paid upgrade). The question is, are they encrypted.
Levy County SO is on the SLERS system and encrypted.I have it loaded and I have been in Williston and have not gotten anything, probably programmed wrong.
Levy County SO is on the SLERS system and encrypted.
I did see that, reply 2. Yesterday I was scanning the SLERS system and the Levy County SO talkgroups were very active and encrypted. The other public safety departments (Fire/EMS) are indeed on the NXDN system. No, read reply #2.
Most Levy county services use the VHF NXDN system and a few TG's are encrypted however the Levy County Sheriffs use SLERS and are fully encrypted.
