Didn't know that since I stay above Travelers Rest most of the week. I'll have to check some sources. The scuttlebutt from last year was that when the Federal Homeland security funding dried up, more than a few 800 mhz radios in Pickens County would go in a box.
It seems they will be dispatched on the Pickens 453.700 frequency according to my source. They will be interoperable again with the rest of the county's law enforcement. Makes me wonder if this is a local thing about dropping the 800 statewides systems or is it happening to other small towns and agencies with tight budgets?
