Life Flight in the clear

Like Paul Harvey says... Here's a strange... I actually heard Life Flight in the clear last night on their non-encrypted TG dispatching a run to St George. Maybe the St George team doesn't have encryption? Was this an "oops" or do they show up in the clear now and then on their own TGs? Of course we know they have to turn off the encryption to talk on LZ1 and LZ2 but this is the first time I've heard them on their old dispatch TG for months.

That happened about a year ago, too. The reason was that they had a failure with a radio and while it was being repaired they used their TG in the clear with that one bird. I can assure you that it is a temporary situation.

I have heard this happen on one of the LF planes before.
I first thought that maybe the site they were on did not allow Astro.

I heard the comms last night too.
