Have several runs that are at least 10-15 yrs old. If I cut back several feet from the connectors and install new ones, will it be as good as a new length?
Thanks

unless there has been water intrusion, or obvious physical damage, there should be no need to cut the connectors off and shorten the coax.Have several runs that are at least 10-15 yrs old. If I cut back several feet from the connectors and install new ones, will it be as good as a new length?

Are you having issues with the coax right now? Does SWR change with weather? Do you get crackling, or a noticable decrease in range when the weather gets wet/snows?Good info. Thanks
I habe pretty mich jad the same experiences.I've taken apart some Andrew Heliax runs that were a good 30yrs old and installed per Andrew specs with Andrew monkey goop over Scotch brand tape and the connections looked bright and shiny like new. If properly installed, Heliax will outlive the installer and then some.
