Lightning all around, but not here...

There's lightning everywhere but here today. It's been a good day to listen to the fire scanner. The local national forest has a Lightning Coordinator. That sounds like an interesting job.

There are cover engines from all over in our area right now, since our firefighters are off fighting other fires. Earlier I heard 2 Arizona engines dispatched, and just now, one from Oregon and one from New Mexico.

We just had to 2 lighting strikes start 2 fires here in Monterey County from what I been hearing on BEU.

We had a ton of lightning in SoCal this weekend. Many lightning starts all over. I could see 2 from the hpwren cameras burning in Riverside. There is another large fire in San Diego... don't know if it was lightning or not.

In Los Angeles it's been hot and no rain in sight. Although when I went into West LA/Beverly Hills it was raining. I miss the rain.
