I have been considering streaming my three local scanners to my local network only for the purposes of consolidating all of my scanner desk into the ScannerLive pc client. I initially wanted to acccomplish this with RadioLog, but seeing how it's pretty much dead in the water, this looks like my option going forward. I currently have a Realistic 32-1210 audio mixer on my desk, but I would like to clear some space.
I have access to a few extra windows 7/8 machines, but I would prefer to keep it in the same PC if possible. I know it probably sounds silly to encode to an MP3 stream only to decode in the same machine, but this allows me to cabinet the scanners and route audio how I'd like it through an entirely PC interface. I have successfully worked this solution with one scanner coming in via line in. I also have a sole raspberry pi 2.0 B for this as well.
With this in mind, what is the most lightweight audio streaming software for Windows? Any suggestions for local streaming settings?
