Been out of the hobby around 9 years because of life. I find myself living in Lima, OH now and would like to get back into it. What do I need to listen to MARCS-IP in this area? I was excited for a moment because I noticed that an old PSR500 would work, and they're cheap used. But then I see lots of talk about simulcast issues that the PSR500 wouldn't be able to handle. Is this an issue in Lima?

Thanks for any help!

The PSR500 will do an excellent job in Allen County. The sites there are stand alone sites (not simulcast).

I don't think simulcast is an issue in this part of Ohio. I live about 35 miles south of Lima and i use a 396xt and a 536hp with no issues. (my antenna is at the top of a 40' tower.) I listen to Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, Shelby, Hardin and Darke counties and a few Indiana counties with excellent signals from all. . A PSR 500 would work fine. The only issue I have is Sidney. I cant recieve any MARCS signal from there. Hope this helps.
