Sounds like Lincoln Parish SO is starting to catch up.

"The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office’s new, computer-aided dispatch system is cutting response times and putting more deputies on the street for longer, the sheriff said."

"Also on the horizon is a records-management system that will make the Ruston Police Department and LPSO capable of directly sharing records."

Lincoln Parish CAD...

Hi,

Does this mean the units have a "terminal" or laptop in their vehicles? That works for secrecy as well too.
No audio means no one can "listen-in".

I do LOVE my "scanning", but I'm not about to jump in the F-150 and drive to a fire, accident, or drug bust to stick my nose in THEIR business. I just love to listen, just as I do my short-wave and long-wave stuff.

Shreveport PD has been using their MDT's for some time, however, for some strange reason, their terminals (computers) "lock-up" and they have to "re-boot" a lot or in some cases, only "go by voice" for the remainder of the shift. Now, BOSSSIER police NEVER have that problem, LOL! I don't know what the difference is, they are both Motorola systems. LOL!

Respectfully,
73,

Don/KA5LQJ
