A Mannford firefighter died in the line of duty Friday evening, February 20th. He suddenly collapsed on the fire line after being at the scene of a large grass fire southwest of Mannford for approximately 12 hours. His death is believed to be cardiac related at this time.
Edit: The media is now reporting that he was with the Silver City Fire Dept instead of the Mannford Fire Dept. Nonetheless, another dedicated volunteer lost while helping others.
