Hello,

I'm having a problem getting the LCSO transmissions on my Uniden BCT396 with an 800mhz RS antenna. I have put the stock antenna on, but it still does not improve reception. I primarily use my portable in NW/SW Cedar Rapids and in the Ely area.

Does anyone else here monitor LCSO with a portable and if so, what type of setup do you use?

I assume the frequencies in the RR database are correct?

Thanks,
radiowa

Using a 800 antenna for VHF isn't going to work. Stock antennas that come with a scanner are junk. When I'm monitoring LCSO in the car, I'm using a Larsen Tr-Band (VHF/UHF/800) antenna connected to a 996xt. I do have a 396t and I use a diamond 2m/440 antenna on that. It works pretty well at 800 too.

Tim - have you monitored JCOM with that setup in your car, and if so, what is the quality of the transmissions?
