An INPUT frequency is applicable only for repeaters. The input is where all the units transmit (portables, mobiles, and frequently even the bases). The frequency (AKA output if there is an input listed) is where the units are retransmitted. For scanners, the input frequency is of little use.

True enough. Depends on the nature of the comms. An exception would be when there is surveillance activity going on in your vicinity they may keep tx's simplex.
If you are interested,you would want those input freq's.

But as Voyager said,for most monitoring you want the repeater freq.

Which is exactly why I said 'little use', and not 'no use'.
