Listen on 410 Mhz near a Detatchment or Tim Horton's ....

Had I known that the mobile repeaters where standard FM, and not P25... I probably could have saved buying a digital scanner...!

I'm relatively close to a detachment and can pick up the 410.8625 frequency from the mobile repeater (regular FM).

It seems that officers almost-always leave a mobile repeater operational so their portable rado will work in the detachment.

We also have several Tim Horton's, a courthouse, and a jail nearby.
There seems to always be a mobile repeater in range any time I monitor/compare with my digital scanner.

Yes, and if you want to listen to TH's direct, try 469.0125 and
464.0125, the latest frequencies...

Another good area is 903Mhz. It's so common in this area that only a few different channels seem to be used. Not uncommon to hear carriers beating against each other while driving down the fast food strip.

Automatic Door Openers such as those at supermarkets can put out a signal also. They can also cause a radar detector to go off.
