I typically have a scanner at home recording and sometimes when I have a portable device/laptop with me, I feel like listening to those recordings, but downloading them from my home network to my device often is very impractical.

Is there anyway to do something similar to ScanAmerica, where I can just pick and choose what recordings I want to listen to.

I guess basically like having a streaming media server except you get to pick what is sent to you.

Note: Some of my scanner software records in wav while others record in mp3.

ProScan is what I use and it's incredible. It works with the Uniden models if you aren't familiar with it.

With ScanAmerica you can pretty well scan any feed on the system. Its broken down into 15 minute intervals, and held for 30 day's unless you download the audio to your machine. You can also FF or rew on the recording or just skip thru it until you have the traffic you want. If you want to check it out my feed link is in my Signature below click on it and the middle feed of the 3 and then" Scanner Archive" below the listed feeds. Hope this helps.

Problem Solved....

What I ended up doing was, just installing an Apache Web Server on the machine, making the recorded files directory, the Document Root.

Then I can just use my Nokia N810 Internet Tablet to listen to them anywhere.

Just sucks how the iPhone 8GB NON-3g doesn't get along with the wav files that Vox2File and XCorder spit out, because the Nokia has no problem. Though mp3s using this same method work fine on both.

You may check into orb a free program that allows you to access your files from anywhere with an internet connection such your computer or phone, and it is free.

If you have an internet enabled phone, just login select which format to stream to your phone and it pulls the file from your computer and sends it to your device in the desired format.

I just got a samsung delve and was unable to listen to mp3's in the web browser of previous fire pages. Then I discovered this I can listen them.

Check it out.
