The recent launch of the James Webb Observatory got me thinking, how big of an antenna and how sensitive of equipment would you need to receive the QRP signal from the L2 position? What frequency is it transmitting on? Will the data be "in the clear" or will it be encrypted? Will it even matter if the average person cannot even receive the downlink?

What I think would be real cool, is if they tasked the Hubble telescope to take a picture of the Webb Observatory before it gets out too far. Every day they wait is a grainer image.

Poor Hubble. That would be a cruel irony. Sort of like boiling a kid in its mother's milk.

Surprisingly I got a reply back from the Hubble team! They said it would not be more than a dot on the image, so not gonna happen I guess.
