Listening to 6070 and getting AM?

Hello,

Listening to 6070 on HF and picking up 1010 from Toronto.

Can't get the station on MW so not an image. Can anyone else hear this?

That would be CFRX - they've been on HF for years. They've had some transmitter issues for some time, but now from your report - and others I've seen on the NASWA list - they're back.

There are a couple of these stations from Canada on the air - there's one in Newfoundland and a very difficult one from Vancouver BC.

I'm sure these are on the master list...best regards..Mike

That's them. I can also hear the one from Newfy from time to time. Nice beacon during the day to check antennas.

I'm picking up 6070 mhz AM also at 01:00 UTC, I am in Fort Erie Ontario and the signal is weak but readable, weather has been bad down hear with rain showers going through the area all day.

As Mike KA3JJZ said, CFRX has been on for years... the parent station being similcasted on 1010 is CFRB.

CFRB or one of the other Canadian SW stations around 6 Mhz was one of my first QSL cards back in '72.
