I'm just wondering if anyone in Nova Scotia is using one of these units?
I'm thinking on trying one to listen to HRM Fire. It says they are preloaded, but when it comes to scanners, I'm no good at programming them. Any info would be great.

It isn't too hard really. In the settings put in your postal code and select a medium range (10 miles) It should come in for you.

Do you have one? Does it cover the ops channels for Halifax Fire?

I have a BCD796 that doesn't have the 700 MHz so it can't get the ops channels.

I know that scanner covers

758.0000787.9950NFM6.25Public Service Band
788.0000805.9950NFM6.25Public Service Band

What does Halifax Fire ops channels run on?

I used to own one.

The HomePatrol 2 will find the closest site to where you are and the Halifax Fire talkgroups or channels are these:

The HomePatrol 2 will display those 30000 talkgroups (whichever is active) and the Fire operations description while you are listening to the action. You don't have to worry about frequencies, the scanner looks after that for you.

Yeah, I just have to figure out how to block most of the other stuff that it picks up as well because it takes too long to scan the channels it's picking up.
