Is there a way to listen to trunk trafic of systems that only its controll channel is stored in the bank ???
i tried to do scan (not search) and gave the band wich i programmed few systems (diffrent ones) control channel in it ....
and the radio stopped at one control channel but no audio ....
i could see in some of them the operating Group Id but not to hear anything ...
i could only hear if i was in chain search in search mode ....

Is there any way to listen to a control channel i know its freq and hear its trafic ??
if yes what buttons must i press ... ic ouldnt figure it it from the manual ......
Thanks Forward

I don't have a BC296 but I do have a BC796. With the BC 796 to hear Talk Groups not programed in you must be in the ID SEARCH Mode. Also you have to set the Bank and Channel to Trunked.

I don't know the commands for the 296 but for the 796 it says to press SRCH while searching that system or press and hold TRUNK until the scanner flashes READY TO ID SEARCH.

It's a BC 296D ie Uniden not Radioshack (PRO). A BC296D is a hand held version of the BC796D. I have both a BC796D and a PRO96. Got the BC796D because Macomb Co. is going digital, got the PRO 96 for portable and to decode the the control channel information. Also have a PRO-2052 for all the other stuff.
