Littleton Standoff Ends Peacefully
Man Wanted On Felony Arrest Warrant

LITTLETON, Colo. -- Littleton police surrounded a house in the 600 block of West Crestline Avenue Thursday afternoon after determining that a man wanted on a felony arrest warrant was holed up with his wife and children.
After a 9-hour standoff, the possible hostage situation ended peacefully at about 5:25 pm. when the man came out of a house carrying a bible and a young child. The man was arrested and the child was returned unharmed to her mother who was walking behind him with another child.

Police went to the home Thursday morning after the woman's employer reported that she failed to show up for work. They were greeted by a man who would not come out and who said he was performing some kind of religious ceremony.
Police determined the man was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for probation violation. They also said he has a lengthy criminal history and a history of mental instability.
No shots were fired during the standoff and no nearby homes were evacuated.
