Structure Fire 3/17/05
On Thursday, 3/17/05, at approximately 1238 hours, Littleton Fire
Communication Center specialists received a report of a structure fire at
1091 East Phillips Place, in Littleton.
The first arriving Littleton Fire Rescue units reported a large body of fire
inside and to the rear of the single family residential structure. The
incident commander called quickly for additional resources. A total of eight
fire apparatus with 30 firefighters from Littleton Fire Rescue operated at
the scene.
It was unknown if anyone was home at the time the fire started. The fire was called in by a passer-by. All members of the family were later located and reported safe. A family dog was rescued by the firefighters from the residence. The Red Cross is working with the family to find them temporary housing. The were no reports of civilian or firefighter injuries.
The fire was declared under control at 1447 hours, two hours and nine
minutes after the initial units were called to respond. Currently, crews are
still on the scene. Investigators from Littleton Fire Rescue will remain on
the scene throughout the night in order to determine the cause of the blaze and estimate the damages.
