Live scanner feed of Shelby Count, G'town, C'ville....

Just got the server up and figured out shoutcast to broadcast my scanner! Not going to broadcast it yet though, I still haven't figured out why I'm getting so much buzz thought the comp speakers when I have the pwr adapter plugged up. Soon though...soooon,

Well I went ahead and put it up. Check it out and tell me what you think. Due to limited bandwidth though, I only have it limited to 10 people. But anyways its Shelby Co Sherriff, Germantown PD/FD, Wings, Shelby Co EMS/Fire. Hope its ok.

Cool! I just bought a PRO-2051 aqnd am progging it up now...... I will put Memphis TRS online when they switch as I will be getting a 2096 asap!

sounds like you did a good job. Might you have some MS freqs in there as well sounds like they just sent out an EMS call to Red Banks and Holly Springs I thought that might be in DeSoto or Marshall Co? There seems to be about a 1 minute delay but if it's all you got then I think I would listen to it.

Well I have all of DeSoto Co. programed in but not scanning. The EMS calls to Red Banks and pretty much anywhere in MS are Rural/Metro. I often hear them say "DeSoto 1" and such. Yeah there isn't much I can do about the delay. It does it so there isnt a buffer I think, but I am getting an outside antenna whenever it gets here so I'll be able to pick up Bartlett and some others. BTW I live in Collierville.

I was going to ask where you were I live in cordova and can not get Bartlett too well. I don't get DeSoto very well either. It does sound good though.

That is a nice feed you have there. Good Job. I live no where close to Memphis but it is nice to listen in on different cities. Again, that is nice!

If I go outside of my house I can pick up DeSoto Co. just fine. Im going to order a antennacraft st2. I think it will work fine for my application and it's not very expensive. Then I can broadcast Desoto and maybe Bartlett.
If this broadcast thing takes off though, I'll need more bandwidth! LOL

If you can do DeSoto.. then you should be able to also do Tunica.... I recieve all of it nicely from where I live on Raleigh-Millington Road. Also the Fed-Ex/Memphis International Airport TRS. Also.. For interst- The AWIN is active for Crittendon Co AR... Now I am soo ready to get that 2096 in the next month!

I always heard that Raleigh was the highest point in Shelby County I guess it is. I used to ride in the Southeast Pct and could barely get Tunica from Pine Hill Golf course.

I guess it is too because I can't pick up MS good inside and I live right on the state line. Like I said if I go outside I can pick it up just fine. Maybe I'll do a little moving around of the antenna. I just temp. mounted the "upgrade rubber duck" antenna from RS to the window with suction cups. Everythings alot clearer...can't wait to get the ST2!!

Nope it is up and running you may have to download winamp to listen I had to.

Sorry if some of you have been trying to listen and its been offline. I had to restart my computer. But its on right now and yeah not much has been going on either. Heard alot of stuff going on on the surveillance TG around 6 or 7. But I've started putting togeter a webpage slowly. The link is in my sig. As far as the listing in ShoutCast, I have no idea why its not there. Even in the server window when it says its been added, I can search and its not there. Oh well....

ok so I didnt really like the whole shoutcast thing so I decided to switch to something easier to use and alot easier to host. I switch to Windows Media Encoder and it works great. about a 5-7 second delay whereas the shoutcast was like 2 minutes. That right there is reason enough. It's alot clearer too. So here is the new link for it and BTW, you have to have Windows media player to listen. Live Shelby County Scanner Feed
