InterOps 1-3 are assigned singly, and 4-14 are assigned in pairs. 15 is setup for encrypted comms between users. (We made this decision at the radio committee meeting a few years ago.)
I was wondering the same but I can still hear dispatch say "priority 1 rescue" or something like that and then hear the station accept the call and all traffic after that. Everything except the nature of the call and address.
Glad I looked here, thought it was my programing. I think they have updated CAD to reduce radio traffic and security. They are not using encryption yet.
Bryx is a software program that sends all call information to the firefighters cell phones via an app and to computers in the station for station alerting. The only reason for the short transmissions that you do hear over the radio is dispatch just verifying the call went out and that they did in fact receive it because well technology. If you could monitor Canton you would hear they have switched over to Bryx automated dispatch so its a computer voice that is dropping tones and giving out the info over the radio. Some other agencies in western Wayne County have it but just use it in the background and have not integrated it into the dispatch process.
