Is anybody able to receive the Livonia PD/FD TRS on a Pro-95? Granted, I do live quite a distance from Livonia (in Romulus), but I get Wayne Co.'s Highland Park Ops fine.
I believe they are using Aegis digital mode, and are contemplating their next move. Everyone in the Dept., thinks it would be ideal to join the MPSCS statewide system. However, with a lack of funds being the key issue, they plan on using their EDACS TRS for the foreseeable future.
I have been using Etrunker on and off for the last several years while monitoring the Livonia EDACS system and the following police talkgroups have shown up on the screen as being DIGITAL.
The following are the few ANALOG police talkgroups.
02-022 DISPATCH
02-026 “Event 4” (rarely used, most active during special city events)
02-030 Traffic Bureau (sporadic use, they use their digital talkgroup a lot)
02-035 Currently being used for interoperability tests (occasional use)
02-038 Currently being used for interoperability tests (occasional use)
02-042 Detective Bureau (occasional use, they mostly use digital talkroups)
02-101 16th District Court-Court officers (occasional brief transmissions)
02-102 16th District Court-Work program (sporadically used most weekends)
Please note: Livonia police make use of Mobile Data Computers in most of its police vehicles so voice traffic on analog dispatch talkgroups can be sparse at times.
Livonia Fire/Rescue (as well as all other city services) use analog talkgroups.
The above list is by no means complete as I do not monitor this system every day but it should give you a good idea of how few police talkgroups are analog.
Livonia is not digital they never will be unless they get rid of the TRS they are on, because everytime they try to go to digital for PD dispatch the comm system shuts down and will not boot back up. there are a few that are digital and that is because they are not talking to dispatch at all. they use a EDCS WIDE system. any other questions send to my email address DougG@twmi.rr.com.
All that has been comfirmed with the Livonia Sgt. incharge of the comm system.
