• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Picking up alot of southern accents on 46.500, 46.380, & 46.340 up here in Western MA today... The station on 46.500 is "communications" and is definitely a fire dispatch. It is blowing Columbia County (NY) out of the water. Of course I have not heard one transmission where they give their station ID...

Edit: Now getting what sounds like Spanish on 46.380
Edit#@: 33.48- Southern Accents discussing "radio problems" and picking up outside channels... hmmmm

Working in the Springfield Mass area today & listening to multiple DX radio stations on the lower portion of the FM dial with southern accents & mentioning the time & temperature (most of the times were an hour behind us, Central TZ) but "murphy's law & communications" kicked in & the stations 'deep-faded' right at the callsigns & went on ta play music....lol within about a 1/2 hour, it was gone...
