So according to Lojack.ca we now have Lo-Jack in Canada. I've spent alot of time looking over old threads about Lo-Jack and I have a few questions that I couldnt find answers for.

1. Lo-jack in the USA is using the Freq of 173.075. Is it using the same freq in Canada? I have checked the TAFL and could not find anything for that freq in BC.

2. What type of data is the Lo-Jack device sending?

3. Is there any program I can download to decode the Lo-Jack data on my computer? ie. with a scanner & Descrim tap?

4. Are there any Lo-jack towers in Canada?

Read this first..... lots of info on those 30 pages! about LoJack in USA how it works etc.

Released: August 13, 2008
LoJack has received approval from the FCC for improvements to it's vehicle tracking system.
Changes include increasing the transmitted power, tracking not limited to vehicles, etc.

The complete FCC document(30 pages) can be viewed, and downloaded from this link:

I have LoJack on my laptop. Have had it for the last 2 years.

I never knew they had it for notebooks? Wonder if they will have a wife version... :D

Also Lo/Jack is available in Canada but under another name.. Boomerang! Not sure but i am guessing someone here in Canada got the rights to Lo?Jack and that's why they had a different name here but Boomerang and Lo/Jack are the same company...
