My question is, that on my pro 96, would I be able to figure out all the freqs and get the trunking system typed in my scanner so I can hear them again? I dont know much about programming trunked systems, so I have no idea if this could be done by just scanning, or would I need a list of the freqs?

I just happened to decide to listen to my scanner this week as we had some snow. And I knew something was up when I really wasnt getting much at all. Just a clicking sound on the rob co sheriff freq I had programmed. LIke someone was just keying there mike on and off. And then once I got a one way transmission on it. So I figured they were on a trunked system. And I asked someone in the know and they had switched to a analog trunked system in dec.

Any help would be appreciated.

THanks,

Jason

This system is called an LTR Passport trunking system. The sound your hearing on the freqs is an LTR Data burst. These are sent every 2-4 seconds on Passport systems. No scanner will trunktrack an Passport system. You have to program the freqs for conventional and set as FM. Set NO delays and monitor this way.

Someone in another forum mentioned setting the frequencies up using the MOT setting on the channel but leaving the bank seeting as conv and that this would remove the data bursts but still let the other audio through. Also no delay as previously mentioned. You will not see TG's just the channel stopping and the hear the audio.

Was curious if either of you had tried this.

Thanks guys. I hcanged the setting for this forum to go back farther, and I saw the post where they are with Tennessee Homeland Security now, and they were passport system.

I havent tried the mot setting. I will try to mess around with that tonight, if I can find my manual.

But I didnt know if I should just program in the freqs in red, or all the freqs. I went ahead and just programmed them all in. I do know even with dly off, you get that annoying , squelch sound as is goes through each freq.

Thanks,

Jason

Find out which site or sites that are closest to you and program all of the frequencies that belong to that site or sites. You don't need every site programmed in.

The specks say it tracks LTR standard. Wish they would come out with one that tracks the LTR Passport.
