And now they are having issues with the reception with all radios and went back to the analog till they figure out what is wrong. Looks like they have a huge multipath distortion issue with the transmission and reception to the units. It is completely useless in some of the bldgs and some of the areas in out town. Not sure what they are going to do about it but they are still talking about encryption. Geez......at this time is was so "encrypted" they were having problems talking to each other. Our town sits in a hole surrounded by cliffs and hills. Hopefully they can get through this stage.

Yes, building penetration seems to be an issue with some P25 systems. When our local PD went digital, sometimes, it sounded as if they were using encryption, but they weren't. Sometimes, digital radios sound like they are using encryption when they go "down in the well."

Hopefully, you will be able to monitor when things are figured out.
