Local Philly Colleges Temple, Drexel and now UPenn now on MOTOTRBO

I already knew Drexel and Temple were on MOTOTRBO but it seems that UPenn has switched over to it. To my knowledge Uniden or any other scanner manufacturer doesn't make a scanner to decode it. Is there a way to decode MOTOTRBO other than using a discriminator tap and digital speech decoder?

Is it possible to just buy a MOTOTRBO radio and have it programmed for those colleges? If so, does anyone know a local place in the philly area to buy it and have them program it.

Is it possible to pickup and listen to MOTOTRBO without using DSD?

My local colleges are all now on MOTOTRBO (DMR). Can someone tell me is it possible to buy a radio from the list below and get it programmed to Temple, Drexel, and UPenn college in Philadelphia, PA?

There is a search function in the top right hand corner......it works also.

A radio wouldn't do you any good - you would need an access code from the system administrator.

Yes, you can purchase any one of those radios along with a programming cable and software and you should be all set unless they've enabled Privacy or RAS on the system.

You'll need to use a program like DMRDecode to figure out the correct settings for the system.

I have an XPR4550 UHF and have several of those agencies in my radio. It does work, but you have to know the color code, slot, and group for each frequency. I dont know them off the top of my head right now. If you get an XPR4550 I can program it for you. Im not certain what other mobiles will work with my cable, but I think my software covers all TRBO models. If you need a portable programmed, I cannot help you there.

U/Penn PD Channels 1/2 are MotoTRBO. I am hearing analog on F-3. The Allied Barton security escorts are still analog.
