• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Other than Radio Shack, are there any other scanner/accessories dealers around OKC? Seems like nobody has anything anymore.

You might check with the local police supplies; Tiawah466 has OPS in Tulsa carrying Uniden scanners now.

We are only stocking the bct246 and the bct15 at the moment, but I will gladly order in any uniden product. I can usually get them in about 1 day. We will also cover shipping for any RR members.

That is a deal, and I like supporting local-ish businesses.
I'm in OKC, but I'd like to hear about the 'OPS'.

Is there a web-site address? =)

You won't find the scanners on the web site yet. I will try and take care of that next week. I just have to get the info to our IT guy.

It's cool -- I just wanted to take a peek.

I did grin at the text on the opening page:
NEED GUNS?? NO CASH??

Made me think 'hey, who are they selling to?' until I read:
Ask us how your department can trade-in inventory.

Then I chucked, and was like, oh -- ok! =D

Considering that GRE was the primary supplier for Radio Shack scanners, I seriously doubt we'll be seeing anything new at all from Radio Shack in the way of scanners. In fact, I would venture a guess that they will be selling out their scanner inventory and that will be it.

Hey, I'm looking for another scanner to replace my old bc-7. I really need a BCT-15. for the wife's vehicle. What's your price and how can I find you? I'm in Elk City.

The local Radio Shacks here have next to nothing, scanner-wise. I agree with Gilligan - looks like they are slowly phasing all the units out.

So does that mean we can start calling it Shack once the radios are gone? :)
