I'm a new owner of a BCD436HP. I decided to bring it into work to play around with this morning and came across some traffic that I'm not able to at this point make sense of on 457.5375MHz. However the same frequency is also shared with a McDonald's drive-thru using a CTCSS tone of 71.9Hz. I'm picking up the traffic from the area of Mariners Island Blvd and Fashion Island Blvd in San Mateo, CA. I'm on the 5th floor of an office building and for the most part the signal is coming in quite clear. On the McDonald's traffic, the channel is closed but when someone drives up to the order speaker, a tone is emitted and the channel opens up. You are also able to hear both sides of the conversation.

There are two McDonalds in the area. One is west about 2.5 miles and the other is 1.5 miles east. I could drive out and see which one it is but if anyone knows that would be great. I'm not interested in monitoring this, but perhaps some others are and I'd be happy to to have the DB updated once I confirm what I'm hearing and from what location. I'm also surprised that I'm picking this up so far from either location.

Thanks.

Have some fun and take it with you through each drive through, just be careful with feedback. You'll know without a doubt which one it is.

Drive thru window frequencies are not allowed in the database. You can however add them to the wiki yourself.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I can happily add them to the Fast Food Frequencies wiki page once I locate the correct restaurant.

I took a drive on my lunch break to try and track down the actual location this is coming from. Unfortunately it wasn't either of the two locations that were close to my office. So I had time to drive to a third one that is a little further away and came up negative there too. More work on my part to be done...

Thought maybe it was a fluke thing...maybe they were on a backup system or something else knowing most drive-thru's have gone to frequency hopping systems. But I came back to the office, put the mag-mount antenna back in my office window, turned on the scanner and started picking it up again no problem and very clear. Going to try a few other locations when time permits and see if I can finally track it down.

I found the location this morning on the way into work. What surprised me is that the location is at 180 El Camino Real in San Carlos which is about 5 miles from my work. I guess height does make a big difference. I also have a fairly good line of sight as well now that I know what direction it's coming from. In the car, I only got about a 3 block radius where the signal was coming in.
