"Locking" Pro-95 talk groups

Well I just picked up a Pro-95 based on the feedback on this forum. New to scanning so I didn't want to pay too much and get digital yet as I am still learning. The scanner seems like a good deal for what I was looking for and I am happy with it so far.

I have lurked on the boards for a while, great info here and good posts from many knowledgable people.

The local town here operates a EDACS 800mhz trunked network. I have programmed it all, and all the talkgroups available. (Woo hoo all on my own too!) I am completely new to this and have tried searching around for the answer...... I think the reply will be "you can't" but I want to make sure.

How can I monitor a specific TG, or lock in a convo while it's occuring? I can close the bank, lock out talkgroups I don't want with win.95 software no problem.....before or after the fact. Can this be done easily from the keypad so I can keep a convo and not listen to the other tg's as it's happening? Priority is just one frequency right? (Useless on a trunked network) Pause is only during an open scan right? The user manual is horrible btw and hoping I can follow a police chase with out having to hear that the convention center needs more TP in stall 3.

I would think this is a standard feature on all scanners, maybe not?

To lock on while they are talking, hold TRUNK until it beeps.

To close/open a bank press FUNC + 5.

To lock out a TG, press L/OUT.

Priority is 1 channel only.

PAUSE is only when you press TUNE to scan for activity, or when you use SEARCH.

I was pressing it and it would read "ID was saved" but wouldn't hold it. I have a lot more learning to do but will continue to search the forums as I learn.

Thanks, I was mistaken thinking the town network is digital when in fact it's analog so I deleted it before I saw any replies, sorry. This realization answered a bunch of questions I had. I can still pick up Wor County trunked network sometimes and not sure why since they use ProVoice. Still learning about repeaters/simulacasting/patches and other basics.

This forum is THE PLACE though, the RR database is great too.

ok, on the pro-95 to lock out talkgroups go to the bank that the frequencies are in then press PGM then TRUNK use the arrows to find the certain talkgroup you want to lock out then press LOCKOUT then that talkgroup will be locked out, hope this helps.
