I am listening to Radio Australia on 11880khz at 0935PST (I am confused with the spreadsheet as it is listed as starting at 1700utc-maybe NASWA hasn't kicked up the clock yet?) anyways they are discussing the bombs that were sent to the U.S. from yemen. The part that really got me was when the Australian news announcer said "when the packages were discovered as bombs it added to the alarm of an already fragile Nation" WTF??? This is how the U.S. is viewed-as a fragile Nation! Nice.

The official (and sometimes not-so-official) B10 schedules are now just being released to the public. Expect Dan is going to have to play some catch-up to get everything in the spreadsheet updated

Cool. I'm moving my listening post upstairs from the basement for the winter. Bad noise though, got it down to S4 but that's still too high. I don't see how Ridgescan deals with the noise he's got! =:^]

Still haven't got the winter antenna situation figured out yet. Running a short, 15 ft long, elevated vertical fed with window line, but no radials on it yet. Noise is about S4, but that could just be temporary (hear it on my wire as well). Will still add a bit more height and a capacitance top hat along with some elevated radials. May still do some sort of fixed wire loop as well.

3320khz Radio Sonder Grense, Meyerton, South Africa playing ABBA. S5 with the S4 noise.

When you have to live in the city you get used to it:) actually I get annoyed but the 71A I think does really well on AM despite the bad reviews I've read. Maybe it helps I have the EEB mods which include an AM PBT function:D Plus it sounds way better in person-more "fidelic" than off that sensitive camera mic.

You're just looking for a good laugh at my north woods redneck listening post antenna farm!

Maybe I'll put my slinky back up.

Good catch!

...
I have a nice A.M. DX here from India-the young lady singing in the video did so for a solid half hour! Their songs are SOOOO long!
...

ridgescan,

It's not only their songs... Do you remember the San Francisco rock group Quicksilver Messenger Service? Their rendition of "Who do you love" took up the entire side of an album and was pretty close to half an hour long. When it was popular, DJ's would put the song on the radio and take a short nap! True story... :D

2200z 5040khz and Radio Havana Cuba is S9 + 20 to 30db already. WOW! Just hearing traces of Europe on 75 meters too. This clock change back from daylight savings time is great!

Never heard of that band-I will search it and check it out:) I do remember that Stairway To Heaven was the acclaimed DJ's opportunity to visit the bathroom WITH newspaper in hand:D

That's weird. Why would HCJB in Ecuador, a pioneer in shortwave broadcasting, transmit from Chile to Chile? I don't doubt that's what the charts say, but I wonder if that's correct.

I'll have to tell 'yall my HCJB stories some day.

I loosely translated the lack of a target in the spreadsheet as just an in-country broadcast-especially since they weren't trying too hard at 50,000 watts. I guess they left it blank because THEY don't know who the target is?
