Australia on 120 meters

I've been trying for a long time to hear these stations and this morning I finally had some weak but readable audio coming through on 2325 khz - Australia Broadcasting Co. - 1300 UTC - distance 9588 miles and a new distance record for me. There's also weaker signals on both 2310 & 2485 khz - the other 120 meter ABC frequencies.

Good job. A real quiet antenna certainly helps as well as the consistency to check day after day in order to catch the good openings.

BBC in English on 12095khz out of Oman! Southeastern tip of Saudi Arabia. Never knew they had a relay there Rough copy though at 8350 miles hovering around s7-8 with much hiss.

On 5995khz right now I have Family Radio out of Russia and Radio Australia out of Australia duking it out-so far it's a tie-they don't make a PBT for THAT

6270khz 0200z Radio Cairo, Egypt in English. Excellent frequency for no interference, but the audio is always too low, and there's some kind of tone in the background as well. Long diatribes on something or another regarding the middle east. Then quick news, into a music show with slow, depressing instrumentals. *Sigh*.

I got a cute lil DX-CKZU makin the 795 mile trip to my wire from Vancouver with a teenytiny 5000 watts still the poor signal is like someting's got hold of its legs and keeps pulling it backwards but it's a fighter!

I got 9475 Sunday morning, also. That's the first time I heard R. Australia on that frequency.

I have VOA out of Tinang Philippines on this 1500utc hour as I usually do with my coffee-but today it is peaking at s30!!! Very very solid signal from over 7000 miles! Another banner DX day
1615utc the BBC out of Singapore peaking at s20 DX 8446miles.

Sweet. I can sometimes hear the carriers, but would never, ever hear such good audio here in the midwest.

Tonight had (clandestine?) West Sahara Liberation Front POLISARIO Radio on 6297khz with good sigs again from 2200 to 0000z. Recorded the whole thing, including the national anthem at sign off. Stopped to listen to recording ... and it was all corrupted! ARGH!

Will try again tomorrow and make video.

China Radio Intl. out of Albania in English on 9570khz good copy at s7-9. DX 6500miles
Deutschwelle out of Rwanda in German on 12025khz lousy copy at s6-8 and wavy.DX9425miles-propogation to Africa seems to be lacking tonight.

6185khz 0500z Radio Education, Mexico City. Oldies mx and announcements in Spanish. Hvy slop from 6190 so listened in SSB. Only 1kw? Hard to believe, they're 100kw on AM BCB. Used to listen to them all the time on AM BCB before digital radio killed that band.

Radio Educación again this morning on 6185khz mixing early with Radio National Amazonia from Brazil, then a quick ident and sign off at 1200z when it was all alone.This is a much better time to log them as there are no Euro stations to interfere with them or any digital comms on freq. either which was a big problem in the evening. Also, I believe they are 10kw, not 1kw.

Also this morning as I type, tentatively Radio Causauki Coca from Bolivia in Spanish on 6075khz now at 1215z. Recording, hoping for a decent ident.
