6280khz All India Radio in English. Friggin amazing signal S9+20db. Some sort of digital interference on LSB side of sig, so listening in USB is noise free. Just about the opposite side of the world from me 13,000 km and perhaps the best I have ever heard them. Great time to get on 40m CW and call CQ DX!

Well, great time to catch up on all the Cricket news as well! Hi Hi

Absolutely *FABULOUS* conditions to Middle East and Africa this evening. Radio Cairo 6270 is BOOMING in with their notorious low audio and also have West Sahara Liberation Front POLISARIO Radio on 6297khz over S9. WOW!

Recorder running.

I have crappy propogation here tonight:( I cannot get jack but I still managed Meyerton, South Africa..which goes to what you said. Look at the comparison between Africa on 6145 and WWCR out of Nashville on 4840. Just an example of what things are like. I do have rain here so maybe the storm system is sqishin stuff.

Conditions are back to normal this morning here. The BBC Singapore on 9740khz and BBC U.K. on 6195KHZ coming in smoothly as usual (two of my regular morning haunts) and I still have rain here too.

Ridgescan's patented crows feet antenna...

Whew...I thought for a minute that Ridgescan was going to have to move. :)

a29zuk,

He can't do that, because he uses the Golden Gate Bridge as a ground plane for his antenna... ;)

ridgescan,

...or maybe the "unconventional" antenna system you have actually requires one or more crows to be perched on it in order to operate properly (i.e., the more crows, the better it receives). That being the case, perhaps you should start categorizing your daily reception reports as "a one crow day" or "a two crows day" and so forth... :D

Yeah, but if he would have moved, he could hooked one end of a 1000 mile spool of wire to the Golden Gate Bridge. Put the spool on the back of his vehicle and drove to Seattle. Then hooked the other end up to the Space Needle. He wouldn't have propogation problems anymore ;) .

Playing with a new (top secret) antenna. Hearing Radio Mosoj Chaski, Bolivia on 3310khz at S8, but just not enough audio to get over my S7 noise. Got WWRB 3215khz at S9+ 50 to 60db with no pre-amp, so it's working! Will keep playing with it.

Had HCJB on 49 meters earlier - database said from Ecuador. Thought they dismantled that Pifo site to build an airport?

I also caught the tail end of that on my R-390 out in the garage at 2255z. But it was barely over the noise level from my location.

Must have me connecting my new antenna. I hear that the power went off for just a sec. down in Chicago too.
