TIME: 10:20 P.M.
LOCATION: Colorado 71 138' south of Morgan County Road "N".
On 3-28-08 at approximately 2:20 P.M. Troopers responded to Colorado 71 near Morgan County Road "N".
a blue 1991 Chevrolet Caprice was traveling southbound on Colorado 71 and a blue 2007 Honda Ridgeline was traveling northbound on Colorado 71. The Chevrolet crossed over the yellow line onto the northbound lane and struck the Honda in a head-on manner. Both vehicles came to final rest on their wheels after impact. The Chevrolet came to rest partially on the roadway facing in an easterly manner and the Honda came to rest facing in a southwesterly manner.
The unrestrained driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as Delfino Valles, 53 of Brush, CO. Valles sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene and transported to the Northern Colorado Medical Center of Greeley, CO.
The restrained driver of the Honda has been identified as Marvin L.
Holmstrom, 73 of Sioux Falls, SD. Holmstrom sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Colorado Plains Medical Center of Ft.
Morgan, CO.
A restrained female passenger within the Honda has also been identified as Barbara Holmstrom, 70 of Sioux Falls, SD. Holmstrom sustained moderate injuries and was also transported by ambulance to the Colorado Plains Medical Center of Ft. Morgan, CO.
Alcohol, drugs and speed are not suspected as contributing factors.
This incident is still under investigation.
