Lots of activity in the last hour or so:

A 10-3 is in effect and the following OPP detachments have been asked to switch to the following talkgroups:

TAC4-Oxford, Norfolk, Wellington, 6Papa units (Huron maybe?)

Tac2-Brant/Haldimand

Hamilton CACC was asking city EMS to do radio checks on Hamilton CACC Tac 2 and on provincial comm.

Also hearing Guelph PS TG 304 on Charlton, not a huge surprise to see this, it's encrypted as per usual.

Orillia now is asking Port Credit/Cambridge, Burlington/Niagara to Tac 8 while Aurora/407 to Tac 7.

10-3 in effect for both.

Not sure about any of the Toronto, Whitby or anything north of Steeles save Aurora.

Stop transmitting.

Looks like Bell is doing system maintenance so the Comm Centres will move to backup mobiles.

There are all kinds of activity tonight, from tac channels to new talkgroups...interesting nite.

Tg 816 in Hamilton, off Charlton, P25. Don't know who they are or what they are doing but pop up from time to time.

I was listening in earlier today and they were doing checks from consoles in the comm center and I've also noticed that the EMS dispatchers sound like they were in digital then converted back to analog, kind of like when listening to Torontos old system, when someone is on the project 25 system and it's patched to analog

Nope, it was upgrading.

Listen to an analog user (dispatch that is). You'll hear them sounding digital, but in analog (if that makes any sense).
Yep, heard it with MTO London dispatch doing the afternoon road reports...Wonder if the plan is for them to switch to digital...That wouldn't make a lot of sense $$ wise. I assume it's just because of the maintenance...Did hear same dispatch telling the patrols last night that radios might be up/down...of course if any issues just call on the 21.

Wellington OPP have been patched nearly 24/7 to Windsor MTO since late 2013, early 2014

Everyone else is already digital except MTO Maint and MoH. I guess there is a chance they're going digital since they have held out long enough. Everybody else is going fully digital for all 3 emergency services

I can't see them going fully digital in the near future - there are a LOT of radios out there to replace. Every user would have to upgrade as P25 trunking isn't compatible with anyone's radios.

I wouldn't say there's a chance, I'd say it's for sure. They wouldn't be dumping the money into upgrading the core of the system if they didn't plan on further upgrades down the road.
