I've just heard LFD call a 10-2000, do I assume that is the same code (means the same thing) as for when EMS uses it?

That would be my *guess*.
Usually local to me fire departments ask for the department they want, depending where they are and if a rush the ask for them to expedite.

Yes, as I continued to listen, LPD did arrive on scene with unusual haste, and I learned shortly after from FB that an arrest was made.

I'm not sure if there's an FAQ on Ontario fire codes, or even if they're consistent across Ontario. LFD also has a code - PD4, for a patient that has been pronounced. Again, is that unique to LFD?

PD4 is unique to them, yes (policy directive 4).
They mainly just use Code 1 thru 5..
1 - Available & In district
2 - Available but out of district
3 - Responding non-emergency
4 - Emergent response
5 - Out of service

Enjoy listening while you can... the big E is coming soon :(

They'll be switching in the near future. I have to wonder if it is because of tows. They already don't broadcast the location of MVCs, so.
Good point. We can still hear EMS, OPP and fire outside of Ottawa. I have heard 416, 417 OPP say often recently when in Ottawa, you tows get out of here or you will be charged. They are vultures in populated areas. Contrast to outside Ottawa, where you often hear (tow operator name) if you can hear me come on up. Respect does work.

Sounds like they do have their own codes. I believe local to me FD use code 5, same as EMS.
OPP 10-45, 45, coroner pronounced at **.** .......
