I noticed earlier today that my scanner was locked on 460.225 with a dead carrier.
I was too lazy (sick today) to press the avoid key to allow my scanner to move on. To my surprise, I started hearing DMR data traffic on this frequency. Color code 1 and the display said CAP.

I fired up DSD+ and FMP on my Airspy. Looks like 460.225 is LCN 3/4 on this network. I haven't seen anything above this yet.

Anyone have any suggestions on this one?

If it helps, I am in Eastern Nassau and I'm getting a pretty solid signal on this.

Possibly White Plains DPW. No one ever submitted confirmed LCN/Color Code info for the system.

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=7542

Check 460.500 also, see if that matches up.

I thought about that, but the submitted CC is 0 on that system and the LCN doesn't match.
But as you said, neither seems to be confirmed.

If that's not it, then Smithtown also seems to have a DMR system licensed. 460.225 is one of the licensed repeater frequencies.

I didn't realize Smithtown had something here. I think I'm a bit too far away to hear them, but it is a good start.

I was thinking it was from Lynbrook because they used to simulcast 46.10 on 460.225 and quit doing so a few months back. I'm theorizing it is them at the moment. We'll see if we can find LCN1/2 and align it with someone who is licensed for both.

I get 460.225 cc1 pretty strong in East Islip. My notes have it as Smithtown WQSE878 pending further research. Seeing tg 120 in use right now.

Played around with other freqs from the license and dsd spit out the following a few weeks ago.,

453.2250 1st cap repeater ch 1 & 2 cc1
453.8500 2nd cap repeater ch 3 & 4 cc1
460.2250 cc1
460.4375 cc1 comes in weaker than the above freqs

I've only seen TG120 for a total of 4 seconds over two transmissions in the last hour. But again, I'm monitoring the REST channel which seems to be steady at this time.

Have you been able to confirm the LCN as you have written it down?
Are 453.225 and 453.850 two different repeaters?
I'm not seeing anything linked on DSD. The computer I am running on right now does not have FastLane installed.

I ran all 4 of the above freqs in dsd separately one day and that's what she spit out. I am not really that good at figuring out cap plus but all 4 of those freqs are listed at the same location. They also have 3 total locations on that license.

Going to leave 460.225 running in dsd for a while and see if it spits out any info. Did hear pulaski road mentioned on a voice call on tg 120.

The best way to figure it out is to put them in DSD in the order you believe them to be. When you see the VC go to LCN x and you hear activity there, then you know you have that one mapped correctly.

If you see the VC go to LCN x and you don't hear anything, then you need to try moving that frequency to another LCN.

I can say that all 4 freqs id as site 2 in a dsd install that has no networks, sites or freq files defined.

Looks like you guys figured it out. I didn't search the licenses before mentioning White Plains, but Suffolk makes more sense.

I thought about that, but the submitted CC is 0 on that system and the LCN doesn't match.

I added the White Plains system to the database quite a while ago, and yet there are no submissions in the history. Note that the CC of 0 is default when none is specified, and the LCN order is also defaulted to sorted by frequency. Definitely neither are confirmed to any degree as far as I can tell.

Sounds good 8000.

Dave
I finally installed FL on this computer. I can now confirm 460.225 is "site 2". I'll roll through some of the other licenses and take a listen.
According to the license, 460.225 should be the strongest by me based on ERP. However, that doesn't mean much ;)

I've updated the staged record to show this frequency as belonging to site 2. Too bad there isn't much activity here, from what we can tell so far.

I had dsd set and it displayed the 8 channels in the cc channel activity window. Have not had any activity since the deer call. Also ran it the the lcn finder on the 436 and it listed different lcn then what I had. It stopped at 2 of 4 as these guys close shop at 3 30. So I changed the dsd file to reflect to 2 lcn that the 436 found. Will play with both tomorrow morning.

I had this in dsd
Cap+, 3513884, 2, 1, 453.2250, 453.2250, 0 1st cap repeater ch 1 & 2
Cap+, 3513884, 2, 3, 453.8500, 453.8500, 0 2nd cap repeater ch 3 & 4
Cap+, 3513884, 2, 5, 460.4375, 460.4375, 0
Cap+, 3513884, 2, 7, 460.2250, 460.2250, 0

The 436 lcn finder listed,

453.225000 1 Color Code 1
453.850000 0 Color Code 1
460.225000 2 Color Code 1
460.437500 0 Color Code 1

Dave,
where did you pull 3513884 from? I didn't see that in my dsd.events file.
Thanks

3513884 is an FRN, and has no relationship to or bearing on the radio system. It's simply used as a dummy Network ID, and the FCC ULS Location # is used as a dummy Site ID.

Of course the fact that 3513884 is appearing in the results on that Digital Frequency Search website is a bit troubling in and of itself, since that FRN has nothing to do with Smithtown, whose FRN for the trunked license is 3500709. 3513884 comes back to an expired amateur licensee out of Rochester NY.
