How easy is it to find the program and freq's for zone two (brockville area)
Is this a good scanner or should I be looking at the 296d? Some say that the 250d is very hard to program. What do you's guy think

I have had my bc250d for several months and it works great, I scan all scanner frequencies in the Fort Erie ont. area, plus eight towers on the new fleetnet system, and three LTR Trunked systems at the same time with no problems.I use the ARC250PRO software program to program the scanner, you really need good software to program any of these new scanners unless you want to spend a lot of time programming your scanner instead of listening to the scanner.

You should be able to find the freqs for Zone 2 in the database.

The 250d is exactly the same to program as the 296D. All the Uniden digital scanners use the same menu scheme to program Software like ARC250 from www.butel.nl makes it easier.

I have the 250d and it is a great scanner. The digital system I monitor has had alot of work done on it and it sounds great. I purchased the butel software and it is a very good scanner programing software. I recently programmed both my 250d for my last vacation and it was fast downloading.Well my twwo cents worth.

you should look into a pro 96 before you commit yourself to a uniden product

It's a matter of opinion, as well I think the Pro 96 has a lot to be desired. You could give me a Pro 96 for free, and I would still give it back to you. But thats just my opinion .. so let him make up his own mind. I don't think it is fair to the person asking the question to try to mislead him saying Uniden products are no good. I have found exactly the opposite, and would say the same about GRE products. So let him make up his own mind.

To answer garry's original question, I think the 250 is just fine, and unless I'm mistaken, it will handle the Ontario system just fine. No need to buy more than you need.
