Looking for a 'consultant'

Hello.

I have a BCD396XT that is configured and working, however I have some issues with it and would prefer to pay someone to walk me through the basics of the device and explain to me what I'm doing wrong.

I'm looking for someone that has a very good understanding of BCD396XT and trunked systems. Some of my questions include:

- Getting a lot of digital 'noise' during transmission, want to find a way to remove that if possible.
- Transmissions getting cut off most of the time, only hear the middle/end of a transmission
- Understanding trunking better, the different sites, what's best for me, etc.
- Finding the right antenna for my setup, I'm getting poor signal strength, perhaps due to the trunking misconfiguration.

Shouldn't take more then an hour or two of going back and forth either via email/IM.

Anyone have any interest in making some extra money? ;-)

PS - I've already read the 'Easier to Read Digital Manual' but still have questions... :|

1) Where are you?
2) What agencies are you specifically trying to monitor?
3) Did you program it manually or using software/PC?

That will be a HUGE help to people trying to help you out and in directing you to those people.

I will be more than willing to help you out on your new scanner.

If you are in the Long Island Area, I will be doing two forums at this year's Ham Radio University Ham Radio University

The first forum will be an introduction to scanning. Topics include most of the questions you are asking. The second forum will build on what was discussed in the first. Some things I will discuss is how to program your scanner via PC, use Pro96Com and Unitrunker to monitor trunk sites better, and use software like DSD to enhance your scanner's capabilities.

That's were I was heading when I asked where. Since he's been quiet since posting, maybe he's already worked things out via PM. I just hope that the help was free since that is how I think we all have learned.
