I have a pro-2052 scanner. I have a range of frequencies from 30.000-1000.000MHz and a few trunked systems. Which is the best antenna avalible for me? could you suggest any?

A discone antenna would be the best option for the broad range you
are looking for. You can pick one up at Radio Shack or order one from just
about any ham radio store. Just get a good coax, small rg-58 is a
bit lossy at frequencies above 100 mhz. Get some that does well
at higher frequencies and an receiving pre-amp is always a good
choice to put with the set to increase the signal at the radio.
Take care

Unfortunaltely im the only one around here who wants to have this thing on the roof. I live here with my grandmother and whe i showed her the pic of the antenna she flipped out...lmao  . do you think It would still work if I put it in the attic, its basic contruction no metel or anything just wood like any other house, I know it will fit but I dont know if it will work. What do you think?

A discone with a preamp. Yuk. I can't imagine how noisy that would be, not to mention the extreme amount of intermod type of interference.

If you need an antenna to cover a wide band for scanning, consider a scantenna or similar antenna. RG-6 grade coaxial cable will work fine. Be sure to seal the connectors.

You do not need to use a preamp for wideband receive. A preamp will amplify noise and increase intermod interference. I'm sure you will not have any benefit to using a preamp unless you are way out in the boondocks, and there is not a pager or broadcast transmitter within 100 miles.

The number one way to increase the range of your antenna/receiver is to increase the height of your antenna.

how do I do that?

I also agree a preamp would be too muchsince the farthest broadast tower I want to listen to is only 14 miles away, and I only have a 24 foot cable which is low signal loss.
