Looking for a good wide band antenna

Hi all,

Busy night up here in Sussex, 3rd alarm with m/a EMS in Franklin. I am using a scantena by antennacraft bought from goove many years ago. Its roof mounted and I am looking for someting better. Cay anyone offer any advice ?
I live in Northern NJ and would love to be able to p/u NYD, SOD Etc.

I'd recommend the Diamond Discone DJ130N antenna.

It does much better on UHF than the Scantenna.

I am listening to the same range with the same frustrations. I am Planning to pick up the DPP Omni X as soon as I have some extra money I have read allot of good reviews on it and would recommend you look into this one as well unless others feel that the Diamond Discone DJ130N would perform better. I did read some place that you could tune that upper mast on the dj130N to help in a specific range. You will also want a good cable like LMR400 you can get this on scannermaster . Good luck and please let me know what you get. This can be very discouraging because depending on the post you read and who replys some of the info can vary. I seems that the majority recommend staying away from a discone but plan to spend around a $100.00 for decent antenna.
