Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

It appears that you are attempting to condition/exercise batteries for a XTS1500/2500? The batteries are not in the correct position. The top of the batteries needs to point down and make sure that the brass contacts on the battery are making contact with the brass contacts points on the BMS Adapter. The doo-hickey that slides on the bottom of the battery should be top when the battery is properly connected to the BMS Adapter

What you are seeing happening on the display is the initial BMS start-up procedure and the display goes blank/times-out because it senses that there is no battery in contact with the BMS Adapter. If the battery was making contact with the BMS adapter, the display would indicate that the battery is being charged, which is the automatic/default function, and display that function constantly.

If the battery chemistry is Lithium you need to make sure that the BMS Adapters are Lithium compatible. It will say what is the compatible battery chemistry underneath the BMS Adapter.

After, you position the batteries on the adapter correctly, you press the "Condition" button to start the exercising/conditioning procedure of the battery. It will take approx. 1 hour per the remaining effective battery milli-amp hour capacity to go through the three exercising cycles. Thus, if the battery has a remaining capacity of 2000 Mah, then it will take approx. 20 hours to condition/exercise the battery. If the battery is being used in a public safety environment, and battery has less than 80% capacity, that battery should be disposed of, and 70% for a non-public safety activity.

If the batteries have not been exercised or used in a long period of time, you more than likely will get the "E01" error after the battery is discharged for a couple cycles. If that happens you will need to "Cycle Test" a.k.a. "Forming" the battery. The manual will explain on how to do that. Essentially, you are just waking the battery up after being lazy from not doing anything for a long period of time.

They are batteries for HT1250 / GP360.

Ok I'll flip it around and see how we do..

Did you indicate earlier that the moto manual had the same info as the one I posted?

The HT1250 was my original thought because of the size of the release buttons were a tad bigger than on the XTS1500 battery, but for some reason I went with XTS1500 guess.

Yes, I did say the manual is the same.

I'm sure you'll notice a great improvement after you repositioned the batteries.

These units when turned on have three different versions indicated by the voltage displayed. 3.3 was nicad only, 4.4 was nicad and Ni-MH. and i believe 9.4 was for lithium support. Im going off memory here as been ages since I had an old 3.3 that i was able to swap a chip out to get Ni-MH support.

These unit came in either 3 or 6 bay support.

That is the BMS software revision version number that the volts field displays for two seconds after the initial startup. The 9.5 is the latest and possibly the last version and the BMS System is lithium compatible but must use the appropriate lithium BMS Battery Adapter for the lithium batteries. It will only charge and analyze lithium batteries, the BMS System will not condition/exercise them.

It's running excellent now, going through all 60 batteries we have, this has been needed a long time.

In an internet first, I really wanted to FTFM, but I just didnt have it. :)

We are running some old gear, but it serves us well.

Thanks for the patience and support, I've been out of Pro LMR for a number of years.
