Hello,
I am new here and would like to ask a few questions if I may?
I have posted an image here with the type of info I would like to show up on the screen(I know I will probably have to program the words to city and PD or FD) I just moved back here and while away everything went digital, so a new scanner must be purchased. Do the GRE scanners have the capability to have the display show the freq and the city show up on the display? Does anyone in the area know which brand Bearcat or GRE work better in the area? I have had all Bearcat scanners in the past but none were able to be hooked to a computer so I will have to learn how to do all that stuff. I was also thinking of streaming the output to either this site or my own website so my father or anyone else could listen to it. I only want to scan St.Clair Shores and Roseville PD and FD. I will have to try and find the software to do that after I learn to program the scanner. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

frequency is kinda irrelevant with a trunked system, but on my pro-106 the display shows the frequency on one line, and the second line shows alternating talk-group and system name
Get a pro-106 or the pro-97. ( or their GRE equivalents ) I lived in Roseville and received all macomb county no problems. Also i was able to tune in eastern wayne county no problem.

If you get a 106 press tune 868.9875, press store, then add the following talk groups in separate banks
2879 Roseville Police
2892 Roseville Fire
2875 SCS Police
2890 SCS Fire
and you will be set
good luck

Pro 97 won't work in Roseville, it isn't digital. I think you meant Pro 197.

The 106 was one sale for 379.99 at RS for a long time. Must have been a summer-long thing.

Thanks to all that answered. I will look into the Rs. I am just sitting home these days with nothing much to do so at least I can learn the radio before I have to go back to work.

Yeah RS always inflates their price on uniden, wonder why? It couldn't be its their competition is it? Expect to pay $500 on new digital unidens at real uniden outlets.
