Looking for a new scanner to use for my feed.

Radio Shack has the pro 197 on sale. Are there any disadvantages to getting the RS versus the GRE 600. I know they are the same scanner just curious if there are any differences other than the firmware they use.

Depends on where you are. How about updating your profile with city/county and state.

I see you are in "4" land and reside in Virginia, right?

I have the GRE PSR-500 and love it. Have had plenty of RadioShack scanners but not the -197.

From descriptions and what's been posted in other places here on RR, I would say they are close.

Depends on who has the best price....
