for pete's sake

listen to what everyone is telling you. do the math and spend the money, or get out of the game. if you dont want to do what needs to be done, then you dont need to be doing it. i worked for a communication company for two years and if you cut a corner to save $3, you were fired. there is no room for error in this stuff. a $3000 repeater with a bad antenna is worth $2. if you dont want to do it right, dont do it at all. i want to make my own repeater myself, but i cant afford to do it right. so im not going to..

and get those freqs coordinated or your going to have bigger problems than a bad repeater.

I am going to use the Ground plane and RG214.

Ok, good. It's a nice honest antenna that won't lie to you. It has zero gain over a dipole, but right now, that's what you need. Go forth and conquer, and let us know how that works out.

Oh, and talk to the frequency coordinator.

Just to set the record straight, my other post about RG59 and gold-plated F connectors IS a joke. Please ensure that you follow everyone elses advice.
